BRITAIN’s scientists are to engage in another bout of crystal
ball-gazing. Ian Taylor, the science minister, has announced that there will be
a second Technology Foresight in 1999, aimed at identifying areas of research
vital for economic competitiveness. Hundreds of academics and industrialists
will take part in the exercise.
