Get ready for toddlers racing around in customised buggies pumping out the
latest tunes. Joseph Tihngang of Reading, Berkshire, wants to bring music to
infants on the move, but without the need for expensive batteries. He has
designed a buggy with a bicycle-style generator fitted to one of the wheels
(GB 2 345 596). This powers a cassette deck or CD player. All the parent has to do
is push a little harder. 鈥淭his way everyone is kept happy, parents and children
alike,鈥 says the inventor. If music on the move isn鈥檛 required, a cradle on the
pushchair handlebar could be used to charge cellphone batteries.
