What could be better on a hot summer’s day than underwear made of a material
that can quickly dissipate heat, leaving you cool and fresh around the groin?
Mizuno Corporation, Japan’s top sportswear maker, claims to have invented just
such a garment. Called Icetouch, the firm’s new briefs are made of a mixture of
cotton and EVAL (polyethylene vinyl alcohol). Mizuno says the material
dissipates heat at such a rate that the wearer’s groin is kept about 1 °C
cooler than if they were wearing cotton underwear.
