Almost half the British population would be willing to eat genetically
modified food, suggests an opinion poll commissioned by CropGen, a panel of
academics lobbying for agricultural biotechnology. 鈥淧eople are not as
antagonistic as opponents make out,鈥 says Vivian Moses, chair of CropGen. Of
1007 respondents quizzed by the pollster NOP, 46 per cent would eat GM food, 50
per cent would not and 4 per cent were undecided. Almost two-thirds of men said
yes, compared with 39 per cent of women.
