Insects On Dock Plants is not the most promising of titles. But this latest
in the Naturalists’ Handbooks series, by David Salt and John Whittaker, is
riveting. Docks are colonised by an incredible variety of species, most of whose
life cycles also border on the incredible. The details are fascinating,
